The Durbuy project exemplifies a significant ecological endeavor by utilizing only 7% of the land for construction while preserving 93% of the site as forest. It involves a team of architects, engineers, and local partners working on a 19.5-hectare site, with 14 hectares dedicated to forest revitalization and 5.5 hectares for agriculture. The buildings are designed sustainably, incorporating demountable metal structures, low-CO2 concrete, and photovoltaic panels. Biodiversity initiatives, ecological wastewater management, and a mobility strategy are also integrated.
