Rotiers - Renovation of 46 social housing.
Rotiers emphasizes the concept of creating a distinct identity for the building that is in harmony with its surrounding environment. The project aims to enhance the quality of life for residents by addressing various scales, focusing on both the interior living spaces and the entry and exit sequences.
Another key aspect of Rotiers is the investment in shared outdoor spaces to foster community living and enhance the neighborhood's sociability.
The building is clad in a new energy-efficient skin with a durable, tiled finish, reflecting a bold architectural choice. The shimmering material mirrors the shadows of nearby trees, illuminating the facade while maintaining the calm and poetic ambiance of the surroundings. These interventions are designed to improve the habitability of the dwellings while respecting the existing structure's identity.
The building's relationship with its context is reimagined to open up to significant vistas. Window frames with varying openings mark the transitional spaces between the interior and exterior, bringing life to the interior and encouraging social interaction outside.
The proposed interventions facilitate a complete re-identification of the building and its adjacent landscape. The goal is to create an exemplary renovation for its inhabitants and neighbors, transforming it into a living space that fosters intimacy and security.
